A 3D Areola tattoo is a form of medical tattooing that makes use of colour, texture, contrast and shadows to recreate an areola after breast surgery.

Reconstruction through tattooing of the nipple and areola is a wonderful way of restoring the natural confidence of a person who, for a number of reasons, may have had their nipples and breasts removed or injured which can result in a devastating loss of confidence. A 3D tattoo adds colour and shading to the breast to make the nipple look like it’s raised. The tattooed nipple is flat to the touch, like a normal tattoo, but looks like a natural nipple.

3-D Areola tattooing can restore the natural look of your breasts and help to make you feel like a new woman.

THE PROCEDURE

In a thorough consultation we will go through your medical history and determine the wanted outcome for your areola tattoo. Some people have one nipple and want the second one tattooed to match, some people have nothing. Some might have just lost colour.

We will carefully measure and decide on the placement of your new areola and nipple, draw them on with a marking pen and choose a colour that matches your overall complexion. 

After tattooing the area will be wrapped for a few days to keep it dry and support healing.

WHO CAN GET 3D AREOLA TATTOOING?

  • Women who have undergone a mastectomy or breast reconstruction

  • Men after top surgery

  • Women who have lost colour of or want to improve the shape of their areola 

  • All must be at least 6 months post surgery
